Alleged assault on Frat Row

A female student is reporting she was sexually assaulted at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house around 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5 according to a campus alert issued by SMU Police on Sept. 6.

“Obviously these are just allegations,” Austin Kilgore, an alumni board member of the Sig Ep chapter, said Tuesday night. “This is not something our fraternity represents. We will be sure to assist SMU with anything they need and go from that point.”

Rick Shafer was not able to provide any more information regarding the incident. Stuart Campbell, the chapter’s president, could not be reached for comment.

The alleged assault is still under investigation by the SMU Police Department. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the SMU Police Department at 214-768-3388.
