Mustang Brief:Football schedule might cost us

CORRECTION: In the Sept. 9, 2009 edition of The Daily Campus, this story contained several factual errors.

“38 days” should be”31 days” and “Oct. 17” should be “Oct. 10.”

The Daily Campus staff apologizes for these mistakes and thanks the SMU community for bringing them to our attention.

This past Saturday the Mustangs sold a record breaking 34,749 tickets and actually managed to win the game as well. Unfortunately, the team’s next chance to get this kind of fan support won’t be for another 38 days.

I don’t know who decides the football schedule, but they are definitely not my friend. Besides the fact that this means no “Boulevarding” (God knows I love the Boulevard), it also puts our team at a disadvantage. A series of away games means a lot of traveling and less fans for the Mustangs.

Hopefully, all of SMU will invade Fort Worth for the TCU game Oct. 3 before the Mustangs regain the homefield advantage Oct. 17. 38 days.
