SMU PD will file charges with the Dallas District Attorney against a non-affiliated man who is linked to at least one case of indecent exposure, according to Police Chief Richard Shafer.
There have been four cases of indecent exposure since the beginning of August.
Three cases involved a man standing inside a building and exposing himself through a window. A fourth case took place off-campus and is not considered by SMU PD to be related to the others.
Shafer said there has been one definite confirmation by a witness that the man arrested last Friday is involved in one case.
SMU PD is working with the other witnesses to see if the man is involved in the other two.
Shafer said the man was spotted on campus Friday, acting suspicious. Describing the “good police work,” Shafer said an SMU police officer then questioned the man and perfomed a “walk and talk” with him, which included taking a photo.
Police later showed the photo in a line-up to some of the witnesses, who identified the man as the flasher.
