Senate meets with Park ‘n Pony

The Student Senate held their latest meeting in Hughes-Trigg Tuesday afternoon. Director of Park n’ Pony Mark Rhodes spoke to senators during the meeting.

According to Rhodes, more than 6,000 rides have been given by the escort service since the beginning of the year. The service, which provides free golf cart rides to students Thursday through Sunday nights, has been featured on NBC. According to Rhodes, Sunday nights are the slowest for the service.

The senate also discussed the new parking garage behind the natatorium. It should be finished in the spring.

According to the senate, Dates for Darfur raised $2000 to fight against the genocide in the region of Sudan.

The finance committee also approved the funding for a satirical newspaper called The Muddler.

The Senate is holding their town hall forum on the drug and alcohol use in the Hughes-Trigg theatre at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22. The entire SMU community is invited.
