College Football News and Fox Sports announced the Mid-Season All-American list for the 2006 season.
Sophomore Jessie Henderson was named to the second team as a kick returner.
Henderson was a preseason Honorable Mention and was named to the All Conference-USA team.
Henderson is sixth on the Mustangs’ all-time career return list with 1,032 yards and 369 yards coming this season, and he did not have a return in either of the last two games.
The most notable return for Henderson this season was against Tulane when the Mustangs were down by one, Henderson returned the kick 100 yards to put SMU back on top. Henderson’s other kickoff returned for a touchdown was against Tulane last season, an 88-yard return at Ford Stadium.
