The SMU equestrian team rode to a 10-2 victory over TCU on Friday. Freshmen Maia VanDyke and Kristen Collins earned the highest scores of the day in the on flat and fences competition at Fieldstone Park. VanDyke earned the highest score of the day with 86 points on her flat pattern. Teammate Collins scored 84 points in the flat competition and 80 points in her ride over fences. Sophomore Lauren Hester contributed to the win, scoring 69 points on her flat pattern and 73.5 points in her ride over fences. Former Mustang Chelsea Stevens competed in Friday’s match-up for TCU. She earned the Frogs’ only point in the open flat competition. The equestrian team rides again on Feb. 25 against Stephen F. Austin University.
