The Mustangs hope to add another win to theirimpressive 11-4 season record, and also look to get a leg up on aWAC foe.
If statistics have anything to do with it, the Mustangs shouldbury the Lady Techsters. Senior Beth Karasek leadsthe team with 230 on the year and an average of 4.18 per game. These stats have the Mustangs excited and confident going intoSaturday’s game.
“We’ve heard Louisiana Tech has really improved, butwe’ve been playing so awesome. We feel like we can playreally well against them and pick up the win,” sophomoresetter Jessica Mihm said.
Mihm has added 61 kills in 52 games this season. She also saidthat the Mustangs’ winning ways don’t stem solely fromhard work, but from a drive to prove themselves to doubters.
“After last season and the preseason we had, not manypeople thought we would succeed. But right now, we’re provingthem wrong, and I’m really happy about that,” shesaid.
The Mustangs currently sit atop the WAC’s Eastern divisionstandings with a 2-0 conference record, followed bySaturday’s opponent, Louisiana Tech, who sits at 1-1. ThePonies also boast a solid 3-1 home record this year, and rank inthe top five in six major WAC statistical categories, includingassists, kills and blocks.
