“Inkheart” – Brendan Fraser stars as Mo Folchart, a man capable of bringing fictional characters from books to life. Folchart finds himself in trouble after bringing an evil villain to life who kidnaps Folchart’s daughter. He embarks on a journey to save his daughter with the help of a magical group of friends. “Inkheart” also stars Helen Mirren, Paul Bettany, Jim Broadbent, and Rafi Gavron. The film is one hour and 45 minutes long. The film is rated PG for fantasy adventure action, some scary moments and brief language.
“Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” – The third installment of this vampire versus werewolf series acts as a prequel to its predecessors. The film focuses on what sparked the war between the vampires and the Lycans, who were once slaves to the vampires. The film stars Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, Rhona Mitra and is one hour and 32 minutes long. The movie is rated R for sexuality and violence.
“Revolutionary Road” – Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunite in this film as a married couple in the 1950’s. Bored with the humdrum of suburban life in Connecticut April (Winslet) invents a plan to escape to Paris. However, once put into action, the plan forces the couple to make choices that will affect their lives forever. The movie also stars Kathy Bates and David Harbour. “Revolutionary Road” is rated R for language, nudity and sexual content.

“The Wrestler” – Mickey Rourke stars as Randy Robinson, a former pro wrestler whose career ended after a heart attack. Robinson lives a dismal life, after his wrestling career, and struggles to cope with it. However, he jumps at the opportunity to climb into the ring one more time to go up against his old nemesis, no matter how dangerous it might prove. The film also stars Marisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood and Mark Margolis. It runs one hour and 45 minutes and is rated R for language, sexuality/nudity, violence and some drug use.
“Valkyrie” – Tom Cruise stars as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, a loyal German officer who ends up in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler and end the Nazi party. von Stauffenberg will employ Hitler’s emergency plan, Operation Valkyrie, to put a stop to the German dictator. “Valkyrie” also stars Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Carice Van Houten, Eddie Izzard and Terence Stamp and is two hours long. The film is rated PG-13 for violence and brief strong language.
“Notorious” – “Notorious” is a biopic following the life of hip-hop star Christopher Wallace, also known as Biggie Smalls, or the Notorious B.I.G. The film follows Wallace’s life from the 1980s to his tragic death in 1997. “Notorious” stars Jamal Woolard, Angela Bassett, Derek Luke, and Anthony Mackie and is two hours and three minutes long. “Notorious” is rated R for pervasive language, strong sexuality including nudity and drug content.
“Gran Torino” – Clint Eastwood stars as Walt Kowalski, an irritable Korean War veteran who only finds happiness in his 1973 Gran Torino. After a teenager attempts to steal the car, Kowalski attempts to reform the boy. In doing so, Kowalksi finds himself entangled in the family’s problems with a local gang and decides to do what he can to protect them. “Gran Torino” also stars Christopher Carley, Bee Vang, Ahney Her and Brian Haley. The movie is one hour and 56 minutes long and is rated R for language and some violence.
“Slumdog Millionaire” - The film is a tale of a boy from India and his life journey, which culminates in an appearance on the Indian version of the gameshow “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”. As the boy climbs the ladder of questions in a chance to win 20 million rupees, his answers reflect the events in his life up to that point. The film stars Dev Patel, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Freida Pinto and was directed by Danny Boyle. “Slumdog Millionaire” is two hours long and is rated R for some violence, disturbing images, and language.
“Paul Blart: Mall Cop” – After hostages are taken by Santa’s helpers at a New Jersey mall, it is up to security officer Paul Blart to save the day. The film stars Kevin James, Keir O’Donnell, Raini Rodriguez, Adhir Kalyan and runs one hour and 31 minutes. It is rated PG for mild crude and suggestive humor, language, and some violence.
“Marley and Me” – Owen Wilson stars as a struggling reporter married to successful journalist Jennifer Aniston. In hopes of putting off a family for a few years, John (Wilson) buys a dog, Marley. The Labrador quickly becomes fodder for a column and he gains success. This film follows the couple’s journey into family life. Also starring Alan Arkin, “Marley and Me” is rated PG for some suggestive content.
“Bride Wars” – Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway star in this film as best friends both eager to plan the perfect New York wedding. One problem, there is only one date at the plaza. Inner Bridezillas are unleashed and a war follows. “Bride Wars” also stars Candice Bergen, Kristen Johnston and Bryan Greenberg and is rated PG for language, rude behavior and suggestive content.
