Meadows Theatre’s production of “Uncle Vanya” opened last night. This classic Anton Chekov play deals with struggles of beauty and the meaning of life. The cast is made up primarily of graduate students, with two undergraduate students, all of who play their roles with aplomb. The play tells the story of a somewhat dysfunctional Russian family in the late 19th century. The dreary Russian landscape provides the perfect setting for this dark comedy.
The show runs every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Greer Garson Theatre. Tickets are $7 for students. For more information, call the box office: 214-768-4091.
