Student Foundation will hold interviews for general members tonight at 5:45 p.m.
SMU’s largest programming body, Student Foundation was established in 1973 as an organization where students could come together in support of the school. The first event held was the fundraiser, Telefund, and soon after Parents’ Weekend and the Manata Festival, more commonly known as Mane Event, were introduced into the school calendar.
As the organization grew, Student Foundation was given more important tasks. The Tate Lecture Series, University Ambassador program, Celebration of Lights and Homecoming are all events that are planned by the group.
Membership Chair Keelie Rood hopes for a large turnout this year.
“Student Foundation has lots of really great things planned, and it’s an amazing organization,” she said. “It’s definitely worth the time.”
General meetings are held Thursdays at 5 p.m.
