Chipotle Grand Opening Offers Free Lunch
For SMU students feeling the pressure of the downtrodden economy, or those just looking for a free lunch, a new Chipotle location is inviting them to stop by Wednesday before their grand opening for a free meal.
Located on McKinney Avenue and Armstrong, the Chipotle will offer SMU students a free meal and drink when they show an SMU ID between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m..
According to Chipotle.com, Chipotle was founded by Steve Ells with the philosophy of “Food with Integrity”. That means that Chipotle works back along the food chain, going out firsthand to discover the origin of the vegetables and meats that they serve to their customers. Chipotle makes sure that all its produce is organically grown, with no hormones or antibiotics added.
Students and faculty can choose between burritos, tacos, or burrito bowls, which are burritos without the tortillas. Chipotle offers four types of meat and a vegetarian option, as well as an assortment of side items and salsas. Chipotle will even throw in a free drink to complement the meal.
