Expect a carnival today on the Main Quad.
Mane Event, organized by Student Foundation, will be today from 3 to 6 p.m. It will feature free food such as popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream, as well as activities such as bounce houses and games.
There is usually a theme for the event, but not this year. Last year’s theme was based off the movie “Grease.”
The festivities will be outside of Dallas Hall on the Main Quad. T-shirts will be on sale for $10 during Mane Event.
The Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports is also hosting an event this weekend. Spring Fever will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The event will include three one-hour exercise classes given outside. A Body Combat class will be given from noon to 1:00 p.m. Body Pump will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and Body Attack will be given during the last hour, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be a DJ, free food, chair massages and giveaways.
According to Brook Benten Jimenez, the fitness coordinator at Dedman, Spring Fever is an “event to promote physical fitness as well as the Augie’s Quest organization” which raises money for ALS research.
