Free makeup samples, makeovers and more were offered by Mark Cosmetics Wednesday in Hughes-Trigg Commons from 12 to 2 p.m.. Mark has teamed up with SMU’s Program Council to get the word out about Mark makeup and the opportunities offered through this company. This event was a day of makeup and fashion, promoting how Mark can help students gain work experience, internships and be used to start a career in the fashion industry.
The Mark college program is brand new and is seeking new representatives for the company. Representatives get their own Web site online and receive 40 percent commission for all the Mark products sold, as well as great business skills and networking opportunities. This position is perfect for the college student because there are no quota requirements, and what you put into the program is what you get out of it. Mark also offers students the opportunity to become a campus sales manager, where the benefits are similar to a representative, plus a weekly bonus.
The company also offers a $6,000 paid internship in the Mark office in New York City during the summer, where interns can gain experience working in the industry firsthand. Clothing, bags and accessories were on display for purchase, and Mark was giving away a free product for coming by and meeting the team. There was also a raffle where students could enter to win a full bag of Mark makeup. Mark products are available at the SMU bookstore and purchases can be paid for with SMU Pony dollars.
The products are displayed as a bookstore purchase, even if students are buying skincare and makeup! “I think this program is so great, I just love the makeup. I used to buy my makeup from Mac and always found myself in Sephora, but I recently switched my makeup over to Mark completely, and I couldn’t be happier with the affordable prices,” President of Program Council and Mark Campus Rep. Brittani Arrington said. Mark’s motto is to enhance beauty, believing that every woman is beautiful. This event gave Mark the opportunity to showcase these ideas to SMU students.
