The Mustang volleyball team swept Tulane 3-0 (30-28, 30-26, 30-27) in its home game Friday night, improving its record at Moody Coliseum to 6-1.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Giubilato led the team with her league-leading 13th double-double of the season, recording 14 kills and 13 digs. Freshman middle blocker Natalie Peters also contributed a high number of kills with 12, hitting .348 to go along with her three blocks.
Sophomore outside hitter Caitlin Rainbird tallied eight kills and 12 digs, while senior middle blocker Ashley Zener had seven kills, hitting .545. Senior middle blocker Stephanie Bennett saw court action, recording five kills and four digs.
Leading the Mustangs (7-11, 3-3 C-USA) in assists with 41 was freshman setter Stefanie Kons, who also had four kills and three blocks. Junior libero pitched in with 12 digs for the match.
The SMU volleyball team will take to the court again this weekend at Moody Coliseum when it hosts UAB on Friday at 7 p.m. and Memphis on Sunday at 2 p.m.
