Celebrate the affection at Phenomenal Love

Black Men Emerging will be hosting its biggest event tonight-the Ninth Annual Phenomenal Love production- to celebrate women and show them that their love and dedication never goes unnoticed.

“Women impact our lives in so many ways,” President of BME Ne’Andre’ Broussard said.

The show incorporates song, dance and theatrical performances by all members of BME. Last year was the first official production and was entitled, “K-Luv.” Each year the show has a theme and this year’s show is, “How a Real Man should Appreciate a Woman.”

“It’s a romantic comedy,” Broussard said.

According to Broussard, Phenomenal Love was created to celebrate women on campus and around the community and show them that they are appreciated.

“Women are overlooked,” said Jason Jackson, Vice President of BME.

The show is open to anyone who would like to attend. Students are encouraged to invite friends from other universities as well. Women are highly encouraged to come since the show is directed toward them.

“This is for everyone in our community,” said Broderick Mitchell, Secretary of BME.

Members of BME have been rehearsing for the show for over three months. Broussard held four practices per week, three hours per day, since January. According to Jackson, there will be performances by men in BME with very strong talent.

The show will be held in Hughes-Trigg in the theater. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Following the show is dinner for audience members and performers. Both events are free and open to anyone who would like to attend. After dinner, BME is hosting its first Phenomenal Love after-party in the Ballroom. Tickets for those who attended the show will be discounted.

“Leave all your worries behind and come feel the love,” Broussard said.
