Dallas police arrested a man for the murder of SMU graduate Jessica Chané Waldron.
Police booked 21-year-old Alejandro Espinoza April 7 on $150,000 bail, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The Morning News reported that after 2 a.m. on March 29, Espinoza was driving away from a downtown club in a blue truck driven by a friend when they were involved in a fender-bender. When the driver of the other car did not stop, Espinoza fired his automatic weapon.
The bullet, which was not intended to hit any bystanders, struck Waldron in the lower back. She was taken to Baylor University Medical Center where she later died.
Waldron graduated SMU in 2007 with a major in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs.
