A story in the Feb. 21, 2008 issue of The Daily Campus misrepresented some things said by lecturer Tom Stone in his discussion of the JFK assassination.
Stone never said that New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison had an office in the same building Oswald worked in. Stone said that he discovered the fact that Oswald probably worked in that building alongside right-wing activists who hated Kennedy enough to want him dead, that this relationship took place the summer before Oswald shot Kennedy, and that the Warren Commission purposely ignored the connection.
Stone also never said that Oswald was “most likely influenced by right-wing Kennedy haters” or that Jack Ruby “was most likely silencing Oswald” for “the Mafia.” He presented these as theories that cannot be either proved or disproved. Needless to say, that is a very different thing.
The Daily Campus apologizes for the error.
