Both Ike Ofoegbu and Bamba Fall made an impression on Conference USA coaches and select media this season.
Senior Ike Ofoegbu was named to the Third Team All-Conference USA. Ofoegbu’s 14.5 points a game and 7.6 rebounds a game rose to 16 points and 7.9 rebounds when playing a C-USA opponent.
Ofoegbu was one of the few bright spots this season for the Mustangs, as a player who averaged just 3.8 points a game last season began to embrace a more dominant role as the season progressed. Ofoegbu is the second Mustang to make the Third Team in as many years as Bryan Hopkins made the list last season.
Sophomore Bamba Fall, even after missing the last six games of the season, led the conference with 2.58 blocks per game and totaled 62 blocks this season. The 62 blocks make Fall the fifth-leading shot blocker in SMU history.
Senior Donatas Rackauskas and junior Jon Killen also earned honors from the conference.
Rackauskas’ 3.88 GPA in accounting led the five members of the Conference USA All-Academic Team. Rackauskas completed his undergraduate degree in just three and a half years and is now working on his master’s degree in economics.
Killen has a 3.35 GPA in the third year of his business management degree.
