The SMU rowing team’s collegiate 8+ boat took fifth at the Boot of Oklahoma Oct. 2. while the SMU B 8+ boat finished 14th.
The SMU A 8+ boat had a time of 14:47.476, which was a little more than 11 seconds off the podium. The second boat’s time was 15:32.596. Texas took the top two spots, finishing in 14:04.034 and 14:29.998. Conference-USA rival Tulsa took the third place medal with a time of 14:36.022.
SMU finished just seconds off the podium again but had to settle for eighth place with a time of 16:59.368. The second SMU boat took 17:19.174 to cross the line, taking 13th place.
In the doubles competition, SMU finished 11th and 15th overall, with times of 18:48.096 and 20:32.718 respectively.
