The SMU Cox School of Business experienced flooding Friday afternoon during the heavy rainfall in Dallas.
The worst of the flooding came to the first floor of the building where pools of water formed in the entryways and near the business library.

“All of Cox was evacuated except the staff helping to clean the water,” senior Jamie Hinz said. The Kitt Investment and Trading Center, located on the first floor of the Cox School of Business, also experienced an influx of water that creeped in through the walls.

The Cox School of Business has closed the Business Library for all of Friday and Saturday.
“Damage will be assessed on Sunday morning to determine if the library will open on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning,” said Administrative Coordinator of the BBA Advising and Records Office Cheri Swannie in an email to Cox students Friday.
Einstein Bros. Bagels will be closed under future notice.

Students should not walk through the lower level of the Fincher Building or the atrium area by Einstein’s or Georges Auditorium while workers are trying to remove water in the area.
