Style file: Melissa Neal, sophomore
Q: How would you describe your style? A: [I’m} pretty simple and easy. I like to be comfortable but still cute, so shorts or a casual dress for class. I [like to] dress up a little bit more to go out.
Q: Who is your favorite designer, and why?A: My favorite contemporary designers are Milly and Diane von Furstenberg. Their styles are both young, fresh and trendy, but not too trendy! I don’t like things that will go out of style right away. They both make cute dresses that you can just throw on and [still] look put together.
Q: Where is your favorite place to shop?A: I love Sebastian’s and Melanie Gayle in Snider Plaza. [I also like] Tootsie’s, and Neiman Marcus, but Nordstrom has the best shoes!
Q; What is your signature look? A: Most days, I just wear a casual dress and flip-flops, it’s comfy but still girly.
Q: Who is your personal style icon?A: I love the way Kate Hudson dresses. She wears trends but not in an over-the-top way. She makes everything look unique. Also, half of my closet is stolen from my mother – she has great taste!
Q: What is your favorite article of clothing?A: I have [had] the same pair of black pumps for four years now. They go with almost everything and still look great.
