Program Council and Not on My Campus are hosting “Netflix and Chill,” a night of food and fun meant to inform students about sexual assault prevention on the SMU campus, Wednesday, March 16 at 9 p.m. in the Hughes Trigg Ballroom E.
Not on My Campus is a student-led organization that aims to spread awareness about sexual assault on college campuses all over the nation. Program Council, which is responsible for many on-campus events held throughout the year, paired with Not On My Campus for this event so that students could enjoy a chill night while also learning about how to make SMU a safer university.
“It’s awesome that Program Council will be able to partner with another organization,” said Josie Goson, Program Council’s web communications and advertising chair. “Events like these not only can bring fun to our campus, but also can make a positive change on our campus.”
The event, which will feature fan favorite episodes from “The Office” and “Friends,” will also be feature food from Dallas’ best snack spots, such as pizza from GAPCo, Uptown Popcorn, a chocolate fountain, Sprinkles Cupcakes and Krispy Kreme. Not only will attendees be able take home some grub, but there will also be Not On My Campus giveaways, featuring a condom bar and other information.
“This is a great way to spread the word [about sexual assault] at an event,” said Meghan Scott, Fraternities Chair of Not On My Campus. “I hope students will learn awareness and have a willingness to spread the word.”
