Performances at the Meadows School of the Arts this semester are coming to an end. But the Meadows Chorale, Meadows Concert Choir and Diva Dolce aren’t finished yet.
The choirs, alongside the Flower Mound High School Choir, will perform their final concert of the semester, “Heavenly Images,” April 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Caruth Auditorium.
The concert is based on Psalm 8, particularly the phrase, “When I consider your heavens,” and will examine the concept of heaven through music. Tarik O’ Regan’s “The Ecstasies Above” and Franz Joseph Haydn’s “The Heavens Are Telling” are just two of the pieces that will be performed.
Mark Rohwer, director of choral activities and chair of the performing arts department at Flower Mound, and Lindsay Swartwood, associate director of choral activities at Flower Mound, will be guest conductors. The choirs will also be accompanied by pianist Chris Winston.
Admission to the concert is free, but the Meadows choirs request that attendees instead make donations to the North Texas Food Bank on its website, or by bringing cash or nonperishable food donations to the concert. For more information, visit the event’s web page or call 214-768-2787.
