National Breakfast Month comes to an end with an unofficial celebration of pancakes on Sept. 26. Plenty of local breakfast joints are celebrating the food holiday and we’ve got the scoop on where to get the best short stacks in Dallas.
If you like free stuff:
Café Brazil on US-75/University Blvd.
To celebrate the pancake holiday and the start of fall, Café Brazil is giving away a free pumpkin pancake to every customer. Today only!
If you need something salty:
Breadwinners on Lovers Lane/Inwood Road
Order the bacon pancakes and bask in the perfect marriage between crispy bacon and sweet maple syrup.
If you’re super indecisive:
Original Pancake House on Lemmon Ave./US-75
From apple to buckwheat to lingonberries, OPH has 13 different versions of pancakes to satisfy any craving.
If you’re on campus and don’t have a car:
Kuby’s in Snider Plaza
Celebrate National Pancake Day the German way by ordering Oma’s Kartoffel Pfannkuchen, which are potato pancakes served with applesauce and sour cream. Ordering it is a mouthful, but your mouth will be full of delicious German pancakes shortly after ordering.
If you have extra money to blow:
CBD Provisions on Main St. in Downtown
CBD’s sweet corn Johnny cakes go for $14 a plate but with Fresno peppers and bacon, they might be worth nearly selling your first-born.
If you want to stick to the classics:
IHOP on US-75/Southwestern Blvd.
National Pancake Day would be nothing without the International House of Pancakes. Celebrate today by ordering the limited time fall flavored pancakes, pumpkin spice and apple ring.
If these options don’t suit your fancy, heat up your own griddle and mix that mix – it’s National Pancake Day!
