At 5 p.m. Sunday the Binkley Townhouse Apartments experienced a total blackout after the day’s massive thunderstorm had finished rolling through campus.
Confusion and frustration reigned among the apartment’s residents as the power remained off and TXU offered no reason for the power outage.
With no one to talk to about the blackout and no official statement given on a time expectancy for the power outage, many of the residents chose to pack up and find another place to stay for the night.
Some students resolved to make the best of the situation amidst the rising temperature and lack of light and bonded with neighbors by barbecuing and building bonfires.
Power remained off in the Binkley Townhouses until 5:30 a.m.
