After having read four, yes four, liberal responses to one conservative piece, I am writing to let everyone see why Bush won and to inform Chris Purcell that his ignorance is what should be laughed at. In case you might not know, Chris Purcell is the petty little child who yelled at and antagonized Senator Bob Dole at the Tate Student Forum. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is incredibly arrogant to yell at such a respected figure if one is a mere know-it-all freshman. Purcell needs to be put in his place and show at least a touch of class (and perhaps intelligence. No, that’s asking for too much).
The American people have spoken, and President Bush solidly defeated Senator Kerry. To call his victory anything but substantial is to cover one’s eyes hoping one won’t see reality.
Grow up, really. Bush is the first president to win more than 50 percent of the popular vote since 1988. Bush could’ve won by 537 votes or 3.5 million votes, and we’d still hear the likes of Purcell and George Henson saying it wasn’t a true victory. Even California was closer than everyone expected. Still don’t believe? Try taking a look at the electoral map. The USA is covered in red. Still no? Try looking at a county-by-county breakdown. It’s one giant sea of red.
President Bush was re-elected because voters asked themselves two questions: Who will keep me safer, and who is a better leader? It is difficult to swallow John Kerry’s slogan of “A Safer America” when he has voted against nearly every single military, intelligence and defense proposal that he has come across in his 20-year career as a senator. Purcell likes to talk about the fiscal responsibility of Clinton. It sure must have been easy to balance the budget when he literally cut the military in half. Democratic leaders simply don’t see the need to support and fund our military.
President Bush inherited one of the largest economic downturns in United States history coupled with the crippling economic blow that 9/11 dealt. The economy is on the rebound thanks to his policies. It is improbable to balance the budget during wartime, especially during economic recovery, but apparently Chris Purcell knows how: cut our military, roll over in the face of global terror, repeal the Patriot Act and raise taxes.
The level of doublespeak that John Kerry engaged in made me sick. If anyone is interested, please visit www.kerryoniraq.com and see exactly how many different things he had to say. These aren’t baseless, opinionated, partisan attacks like those levied against our president. John Kerry is a flip-flopping liberal who changed his stances constantly. If you don’t believe me, look at his voting record and his public statements. Voted for the war in Iraq, spoke against it, then for it, then against it. Then voted not to fund our troops, then said he did. It doesn’t stop with Iraq. John Kerry takes both sides on nearly every issue. That was not a man we want for president.
It is pathetic that Purcell attempts to stump for strong morals within the Democratic Party. I’m not saying Democrats don’t have morals, that would be stupid (or something Purcell would say about his opponents), but it saddens me that most Democrats look to their savior, Mr. Immorality Himself, Bill Clinton for guidance. Purcell attacks some Republicans who have infidelity in their past, but I don’t see many Republicans jumping to their defense. On the contrary, I have never met a Democrat who didn’t make excuses for Clinton. This man disgraced the office of the presidency and disgraced our nation. Thanks to him, parents had to explain to their children the new terms they were hearing on the news. Enter Hollywood-land of morality.
I have no problem with the nutjobs out there stumping for liberals like Kerry. In fact, I applaud them for it. It spoke volumes for Kerry’s morals and values when he said, “This is where the heart and soul of America lives.”
The death of the Democratic party is upon us. I can see the anger and hatred brewing for me in some of those reading this, but guess what? In plain and simple terms: the Democratic party must dramatically change its ways or it will cease to exist. The media painted a bleak picture for Republicans in 2004. Fortunately, their liberal views were not accepted by the majority of Americans. MTV failed to oust Bush (so sad, now what will P. Diddy do?).
Republicans now control enormous majorities in both the House and the Senate. Purcell says there was not one good reason to vote for Bush, not one he emphatically cried again.
Wake up and grow up petty little boy. President Bush was elected by a substantial majority, and no amount of your crying will change that.
