Those without transportation to the polls today can catch a free ride courtesy of Students for a Better Society.
Voters who will vote in the closest seven precinct polling locations will be able to catch a bus on the Boulevard near the flagpole from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Vans will run every half hour.
“SBS decided to drive students to the polls because we feel that voting is a right that all students should exercise,” SBS president Chelsia Phang said in an e-mail.
Voters should remember to bring their voter registration cards along with their driver’s license.
Phang said the organization hopes to drive “as many students as possible” to the polling locations.
In addition to busing voters, SBS will be passing out cookies and lemonade as well.
According to Phang, SBS will also be working with the Political Science Symposium to host an Election Watch Party tonight.
“We want to get young people to care about the issues that are facing our society today, and we feel that voting is a great place to start,” Phang said. “All students should take this opportunity to voice their vote.”
