Student receives research fellowship

Sophomore Kyle Morris Schindler was selected to receive an undergraduate research fellowship from SMU’s John Goodwin Tower Center for Political Studies for the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 school years.

As a research fellow, Schindler will receive a stipend of $500 for four semesters to defray the cost of books relevant to his research and support travel to a conference where he will report the results of his research.

The Tower Center supports teaching and research related to American political and economic institutions and international political economy. It is the only research program of its kind in Texas.

Young Women’s Christian Association re-enters fray

Young Women’s Christian Association is re-chartering its chapter at SMU. There will be an information session and an officer member drive Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Women’s Center.

Officer applications are due Friday at the Women’s Center. All female students and faculty are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Courtney Aberle at [email protected]

Sorority features African-American women in arts

Students from the Meadows Art Department will perform Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Hughes-Trigg Varsity. The performance will feature dance, theater, literature and music exhibitions.
