Dining services: B. Blimpie’s shortened its hours, but with the addition of Montague’s Deli, we might just be willing to forget that.
Student Senate: B-. The fact that Senate changed its inner structure and has given the student body vice president a voice is just the tip of many great things Senate has done this semester. But the controversial decision to fund $3,450 to send the student body officers to the LeaderShape Institute pulled Senate’s grade down to a B-. Hopefully the student body officers will train well and prove our fears unfounded.
KPNI: A. While still grounded to SMU, our student radio station has massively improved its accessibility by putting audio streams on the Web. If you don’t know already, you can go to smudailycampus.com to listen.
Greeks: B+. The greeks continue to do great things for this campus, through philanthropies, fundraisers and activism. But the fact that a huge amount of inequity still exists between the greek councils sometimes overshadows the good of the system.
Parking: F. There is absolutely nothing good to say about parking this semester. Parking rates have increased to $200, despite that there are no space to park in. Any and all senior parking was taken away. And getting into the lot next to Fondren now requires that students navigate through a maze of construction machinery, road blocks and backed-up cars.
Buildings: A-. The heavy construction was an unmitigated pain. But look at the beautiful, new buildings we now have!
