Following a disappointing 4-3 loss to No. 17 Tulsa, SMU (6-5) will try to start a new winning streak with a pair of home contests this weekend.
The No. 8 Texas Longhorns (9-2) visit at noon Saturday, featuring four of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Top 100 singles players, including No. 30 Dimitar Kutrovsky and No. 45 Ed Corrie.
The Mustangs will counter with No. 54 Robin Fahgen, who provided one of the team’s two singles wins against Tulsa. Fahgen is 7-1 in singles competition this year.
Texas beat SMU 5-2 to open the 2008 season. The Longhorns now hold a 69-22-2 advantage over the Mustangs in the teams’ all-time series.
SMU hosts the University of Texas-Pan American (1-7) at noon Sunday.
The Mustangs defeated UTPA in the teams’ most recent meeting, 6-1, last March in Dallas.
