SMU e-mail, Blackboard, blog, Admin Images and BI Databases will be unavailable from 5 a.m. to noon Saturday as a firmware upgrade and new controller will be installed on the storage array that went down last week.
The storage array, which is 98 hard drives, lost the connection with all of the applications on which it stores information on Feb 23.
The maintenance will ensure that the storage array does not lose the connection again, according to ITS Help Desk and Technical Project Manager Rachel Mulry in an e-mail sent to students.
Mulry also said ITS is working to implement a backup storage array in case any more problems cause the first array to fail.
