SMU-in-Legacy Learning Therapy Instructor Jana Jones was recently presented with the Excellence in Education Award from the Dallas branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
Jones serves as the Coordinator for the Learning Therapist Certificate Program, working as an advisor and a graduate-level teacher. A member of the Academic Language Therapy Association and the International Dyslexia Association, she worked for more than 14 years in the public school system, giving instruction in dyslexia remediation. Jones received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with Reading Specialization from East Texas State University and her master’s degree from SMU.
The International Dyslexia Association is a non-profit, scientific and educational program dedicated to the study and treatment of language-based learning disabilities. The organization has 47 branches throughout the United States and Canada, and 10 global partners including branches in Brazil, the Czech Republic, Israel and the Philippines.
