The Brown Bag dance series has been a part of SMU since 1983. It is a showcase of student choreographed pieces. The student choreographers decide everything from the music to the dancers to the costuming.
“It is, I think, the students’ favorite performance venue of the school year because its is all about their craft, their personal interests and passions,” dance professor Danny Buraczeski said. “That’s what makes it so special.”
This year’s dance showcase has a wide range of styles, something for every audience member to enjoy.
“What’s unique about this year is the music,” Buraczeski said. “There are 3 works set to classical music. Many times, there are none – and then we have Adele. There are many large group works, duets and a solo.”
