Editor’s note: A typo has been corrected. The town hall will be held on July 29.

SMU will be hosting a virtual town hall for students and parents on Wednesday, July 29 from 3:30 to 4:30 CST. President Turner, Provost Loboa, and VP of Student Affairs Dr. Mmeje will host the town hall which will “discuss COVID-19 and the related impacts on the fall opening of our campus,” according to a July 21 email.

Town hall participants can ask questions live or submit questions in advance to the townhall blog in order to “help establish the priority of comments and responses made by the panelists.”

The Wednesday town hall comes after a similar July 17 town hall for faculty and staff hosted by President Turner and Provost Loboa. The hour-long meeting for faculty and staff discussed safety and distancing protocols, the financial impact and implications of COVID-19 on SMU, as well as event guidelines for first-year Stampede, August Commencement, and athletics.
