The long-awaited fried foods and musical festivities of the state fair are back! Well, almost. In just three days the 2016 Texas State Fair will open at Fair Park and provide attractions for all ages.
The fair starts Friday, Sept. 30 with the opening lunchtime parade through Downtown Dallas. Festivities will include colorful floats, drill teams and bands to spread the spirit of the fair.
Country Singer Kacey Musgraves will kick off the concert series on the fair’s opening night. The Chevrolet Main Stage will include performances from Cody Johnson, Nelly, Colton Dixon and several other notable music groups.
Major attractions at the Fair include the Budweiser Clydesdales and the Taylor Swift Experience, which showcases memorabilia from Swift’s tours that takes fans through her journey as a singer and songwriter.
The fan-favorite fried food finalists include State Fair cookie fries, fried Jell-O, southern fried chicken and dumplings and many more.
