The SMU Men’s soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over the University of Tulsa Wednesday night, retaining their perfect road record, 4-0.
Tulsa took the early lead only seven minutes in when senior midfielder Corey Albertson scored, assisted by freshman midfielder/forward Stephen Roberson.
The Mustangs evened the match 19 minutes later when senior midfielder/forward Arthur Ivo picked up his first of two assists in the game when he took a shot on goal with a free kick and senior defender shot it in off the rebounded save for his first goal of the season. The score to put the Mustangs ahead four minutes later when sophomore forward, Juan Castillo scored, assisted by Ivo.
Sophomore goalie, Jaime Ibarra, kept his goals against average at 1.00 and was tested with 16 shots from Tulsa.
SMU’s record now improves to 6-4, and they evened their conference record at 1-1. Men’s soccer will play Marshall Saturday night at 6 p.m.
