The SMU men’s basketball team will head to New York City in the 2016-2017 season.
The Mustangs will participate in the 2016 2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden, according to CBS Sports. They will be joined by the University of Michigan, Marquette University and the University of Pittsburgh. The schedule will be released after this season.
This year’s tournament will be held Nov. 20 and Nov. 22 and will feature Duke University, University of Wisconsin, Georgetown University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Duke will take on VCU, and Wisconsin will play Georgetown in the first round games, potentially setting up a rematch of last season’s National Championship game.
