Juniors Marne Erasmus and Tara-Lynn Nicholas of the SMU women’s swimming team have earned their third-consecutive invitation to the NCAA Division 1 Swimming and Diving Championships to be held in Atlanta March 17-19. Erasmus will compete in the 100-yard butterfly while Nicholas will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Erasmus finished third in the event in 2014 and tied for 15th in 2015 and will enter the NCAA championships as the 13th seed. Nicholas finished 8th in 2014 and 12th in 2015 and will enter as the 15th seed.
Erasmus and Nicholas both played significant roles as the Mustangs’ won their second consecutive AAC Championship in Houston February 17-20. Erasmus won both butterfly events she competed in, and Nicolas won the 100-yard breaststroke and placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke.
