SMU football started spring practice Tuesday, and it ended with an exciting bonus.
2017 Fort Worth (Texas) Timber Creek offensive tackle Alan Ali committed to SMU Tuesday night, shortly after visiting for spring practice, he announced on his Twitter account.
Tuesday was Ali’s second visit to SMU since Feb. 20. He is a three-star prospect and a top-50 prospect in Texas, per the 247Sports composite rankings. ESPN RecruitingNation ranks him as a four-star prospect and the No. 274 player in the country, regardless of position.
Ali chose the Mustangs over offers from Arizona State, California, Colorado State, Iowa State, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Texas, Tulsa and Virginia. He is the third member of SMU’s 2017 class, #StangGang17, joining wide receivers Trestan Ebner and Tyquez Hampton.
