The news of SMU football quarterback Matt Davis missing the rest of the season due to a torn ACL is unexpected, to say the least.
Those from the SMU community and around the nation have had different reactions to the news.
Many from the community have been upset by the unfortunate injury.

Others have spoken to the talent of Davis throughout his time at SMU.
@BruceFeldmanCFB Great athlete, program on the rise too.

Really bad news for SMU here, as Matt Davis is down and hurt, possibly a twisted knee. He’s been a game-changer for Mustangs.

Others, however, have found promise in the new first year quarterback, Ben Hicks, who has filled Davis’ void since his injury.
Awful news on Matt Davis, so former @MidwayFB star Ben Hicks, who started against Baylor, now runs the show. https://t.co/wtkHioIpNW

This Hicks kid isn’t a bad QB for SMU. Just some poor throws in the red zone. Thank goodness Davis isn’t playing.

What are you thoughts on the future of the Mustang football team without Davis leading the team on the field?
