The excitement on the Hilltop is evident after Saturday’s win against Liberty. In SMU tradition, students wore all white to cheer for their team at the first home game of the season.
The game kicked off at 6 in the evening, yet the festivities began early in the afternoon with the first boulevard.
As my Ponies say, “we don’t tailgate, we boulevard!” Gotta love @SMU_Football. -The Ball #PonyUp

The boulevard featured several changes such as the new Cox-Lyle Red Zone, sponsored by the Lyle School of Engineering and Cox School of Business. The new area is located in the parking area between Cox and Boaz Commons.
The new space has room for 1500 people for each game. The new section also features Block Party Suites with tv’s and activities such as Bean Bag Toss.
While some students were enjoying the new combined Lyle and Cox boulevarding experience, others stopped to snap a picture of this SMU fan, wandering the boulevard.

After the hot boulevard in the mid 90s, fans took their place in Ford Stadium for kick-off. This game featured the first home game that the team played on the newly installed stadium turf that was replaced earlier in the summer.

The 29-14 win against Liberty marked the second win of the season, making SMU 2-1 for this season. SMU exited the 2015 season with two wins and the 2014 season with one win.
In a sloppy, drunk and strange game, #SMU wins. Not sure I’ll cover many more like that one.
