Welcome to our weekly news recap where we talk everything Dallas, style and, most importantly, fashion.
1. Be our guest
We got our first look at the iconic yellow gown to be worn by Emma Watson as Belle in the March release of “Beauty and the Beast” this past week on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, Refinery 29 reported. The news harkens back to when we first saw images of Lilly James’ famous blue frock from the live-action remake of Disney’s Cinderella. The new dress is reportedly made from satin organza and was “camera-tested” in order to get that famous shade of buttercup yellow to translate on screen.

2. Is our “like to buy” prediction finally coming true?
Last year we reported how the new head of fashion partnerships at Instagram, Eva Chen, had the potential to turn the app into an e-commerce hub. Now, it seems like that prediction may actually be coming true. The app announced on Tuesday that it’s introducing a new feature that allows for shoppable posts from brands, Harper’s BAZAAR reported.
3. Your new rainy day read
Legendary American designer Tommy Hilfiger released his long awaited memoir this week. The book is available on Amazon.com for $20.67.

4. Fashion files
Laws in France famously protect the intellectual property rights of fashion designers; however, in the US that topic is a very different story. Currently, the Supreme Court is discussing the case Star Athletica, LLC v. Varsity Brands, Inc., during which straight-laced judges have delved deep into conversations about fashion, art, and cheerleading uniforms, The Cut reported.
5. Beware of fake fashion apps!
Counterfeiting has always been a hot topic in the fashion industry, but this holiday season you may need to be more wary of what’s on your phone than what’s in your closet. Jimmy Choo, Dior, Nordstrom and more have all fallen victim to fake apps that use their logos and may request users’ credit card information, The New York Times reported.
