Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung, two Johnson-Prothro Artists-in-Residence currently at SMU, will perform together at the Meadows School of the Arts Caruth Auditorium on Nov. 10.

Bax and Chung perform concerts at SMU, teach piano students solo and chamber repertoire, and organize musical festivals at the Meadows School of the Arts.

“The program is designed to showcase the incredible range that twenty fingers on one and two pianos can produce,” Bax said.

For the past three years, Bax and Chung have been named Johnson-Prothro Artists-in-Residence at Meadows. The two share their passion for music here at SMU through teaching and performing.

“The concert on Nov. 10 is a special one for us,” Bax said. “I will be playing a beautiful program with my wife, fellow SMU graduate and faculty member, Lucille Chung.”

Bax and Chung will be performing the works including Debussy’s “Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune” (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun), Stravinsky’s “Petrouchka,” Lutosławski’s “Variations on a Theme of Paganini,” Ravel’s “La Valse” and Piazzolla’s “Two Tangos.”

Tickets for this Distinguished Performer Concert Series are $14 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $8 for students, faculty and staff. For more information call 214-768-2787
