Finals are in full swing. As students are stuck in Fondren or in their various study locations, it’s easy to forget that studying on a full stomach is more productive. Here are some places to grab a bite before, after, and during your study sessions.
1. Toasted

Toasted is a great place to grab a quick bite before you start your finals grind in Fondren. It is perfect for a light avocado toast breakfast or grilled cheese for lunch. They are located on Ross Ave, and are open on Monday and Tuesday 7 a.m.- 9 p.m., Wednesday- Friday 7 a.m.- 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.- 10 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.-9.p.m.

La La Land Kind Café is great place to grab a much needed pick-me-up to continue your studying. If you need something to keep you up, they have a large array of coffees, matchas, teas, and ice blended drinks. They do have some little breakfast bites. Be sure to check out their La La Cookie. It is located on Bell Ave., and it’s open Monday- Friday 6:30 a.m.- 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m.- 9 p.m.

Torchy’s has always been an SMU fan favorite. If you are getting restless in Fondren, it might be time for a queso break. It’s right on SMU Blvd., so you can walk from the library if you need some fresh air. It is open Monday- Thursday 7 a.m.- 10 p.m., Friday 7 a.m.- 11 p.m., Saturday at 8 a.m.- 11 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m.- 10 p.m.

As a California girl, I always go to In-N-Out Burger for a little slice of home. In-N-Out certainly lives up to his name—in and out. If you are pressed for time and looking to get back to Fondren, it’s time to treat yourself. The location on N Central Expressway is open Monday- Thursday 10:30 a.m.- 1 a.m., Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m.- 1:30 a.m., and Sunday 10:30 a.m.- 1 a.m.
5. Starbucks

This one sounds like a no brainer. There are a couple on campus but if you are needing a break from campus, there is a Starbucks very close to the corner of University and Greenville. It even has a drive thru if you are in a pinch. It has some great breakfast sandwich options, and if you haven’t tried the bagel poppers – you are in for a treat.
