Arizona State University will no longer announce the hire of SMU head coach June Jones, according to devilsdigest.com.
ASU has put a stop to contract negotiations as “outcry of the Sun Devils’ boosters reached deafening levels.”
The university boosters had questions referring to Jones’ background at previous coaching positions.
However, no other information on why contract negotiations were vaulted have been released at this time.

After only four short seasons, it is expected Head Coach June Jones will be named the Arizona State University head coach later this week according to CBSSports.com. ASU dismissed Dennis Erickson a week ago after being a Sun Devil for five years.
Jones was 23-28 in his tenure at SMU, including three straight bowl games. Prior to SMU, Jones was a coach for the NFL’s San Diego Chargers and Atlanta Falcons.
