The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletic director, Rick Hart, has signed on to become the new athletic director at SMU, according to a report from the Times Free Press.
Hart, the son of Tennessee’s athletic director Dave Hart, has been with UTC since 2006 after leaving a position in the athletic department at Oklahoma to lead the Mocs.
Hart has a strong reputation of rebuilding programs in need such as SMU. According to UTC’s official athletics site, student-athlete overall GPA’s, tournament championships, and ties to the UTC community have all increased since his hiring.
