After winning the 111th U.S. Amateur Championship, former golfer, Kelly Kraft has made himself may be able to advanced professionally in golf.
Kraft will be eligible to compete in the 2012 Masters Tournament, and compete in a 10-man squad in Great Britain at the 2011 Walker Cup match on Sept. 10-11 at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Kelly’s defeated the world’s top ranked amateur golfer, Patrick Cantaly on Sunday, August 28th in the championship’s 36 hole final round.
The entire SMU team and new coach Josh Gregory traveled to Erin Hills Golf Club in Wisconsin for the final match and celebrated with Kraft after the match.
Kraft joins fellow SMU golfers Colt Knost (2007) and Hank Kuehne (1998) as Mustangs golfers to capture amateur golf’s most prestigious honor.
