After traveling to Tulane Wednesday night, the Mustangs lost to the Riptide 80-74.
SMU held Tulane 17 points in the first half, but the Riptide put up 63 points in the second half.
Robert Nyakundi led the Mustangs in scoring with 26, while Jeremiah Samarrippas had 12 points with 11 assists.
Fouls plagued the Mustangs, as they recorded 27 total personal fouls. This very large number was a result of four players fouling out.
For Tulane, the leading scorer was Ricky Tarrant, who put up 33 points.
The Mustangs will next face Tulsa at home on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m.
