The national director of the Alexander Hamilton Society, Mitch Muncy, came to speak at the SMU organization’s open house in the Hughes-Trigg Atrium Wednesday evening.

“Our national director is here to really get the ball rolling on what we’re all about,” said the AHS president Sara Telle. “To talk about why we do what we do and what is the underlying purpose of the Alexander Hamilton Society.”

As a new student organization on campus, AHS hosted the speaker and event to inform students gain more members.

While Muncy discussed “The Inhumanity of American Foreign Policy,” attendees could grab food from Chick-fil-A and Tiff’s Treats and meet current members of the group.

AHS is a nonpartisan organization that promotes constructive debate on policy issues such as foreign, economic and national security. The membership organization was established at SMU last spring and this was their second event on campus.
