SMU has added its first basketball commitment in the 2017 cycle.

Elijah Landrum, a 6-foot point guard from Tulsa (Okla.) Central High School, announced his commitment to SMU on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

Landrum is a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He picked SMU over Tulsa, VCU, Stephen F. Austin and Florida International. He also held offers from Houston, Oral Roberts and Texas Tech.

With Landrum’s commitment, SMU has landed a player from Oklahoma in each of the last three recruiting cycles (Dashawn McDowell 2016, Shake Milton 2015). The 6-foot, 170-pound Landrum played on the same AAU team Milton once played for, MoKan Elite. In July, he helped them win the Nike Peach Jam tournament.

Landrum is expected to sign with SMU in November.
